Tissue Trimmer STT: For gingival treatment.
As an alternative to using scalpel or electro – surgery. Designed for soft-tissue surgery, the STT ceramic tissue trimmer is a rotary instrument that can be used as an alternative to electrosurgery and surgical blades. The biocompatible hard oxide point is said to cut tissue without burning. Applications include modeling gingiva, opening the sulcus for impression, freeing deep cavities, lacerating inter-radicular granulation-tissue, removing gingival hyperplasia/papillectomies, and exposing intra-osseous implant sections and retinated teeth.
Advantages: The special porcelain of the working section separates the tissue and reduces bleeding (coagulation). Reduced heat build up prevents necroses during treatment. The high stability of the Soft Tissue Trimmer allows rapid, safe gingival preparation.
To be used without any water/spray cooling 300.000 – 500.000

Production Information Sheet – Tissue Trimmer
Description of the product:
The Tissue Trimmer is a surgical instrument for use on the gingiva. The tip of this instrument is made of special ceramic.
Range of indications:
Application:
The Tissue Trimmer must only be used in a turbine. The working speed is 300,000-500,000 R.P.M. Lower speeds may cause injury and must be avoided.
Coolant spray:
The turbine coolant spray must be switched off. Coolant spray impedes coagulation in the capillaries which may lead to increased bleeding.
Disinfection:
The ceramic working part of this instrument is more sensitive than of normal surgical steel or tungsten carbide instruments. Only those disinfectants approved by the German Society for Hygiene and Microbiology for use with rotary and surgical instruments may be employed.
If the Tissue Trimmer is cleaned in an ultrasonic unit, make certain that it is not placed in the same container as other instruments, especially diamond burs.
Important:
During the entire disinfecting process, ensure that other instruments do not damage the sensitive tip.
Sterilization:
Sterilize in an autoclave as usual.
Checking the instruments:
Before storing the instrument, always check that its tip has not been damaged. If the tip is worn or damaged, dispose of the instrument.
Storage:
Keep in a dry place, protected against recontamination.
