Working with porcelain and ceramic has always been one of the more difficult tasks faced by dentists. With traditional diamond burs, work is slow and tedious, and the risk of fracturing the crown is always looming over the procedure, threatening to bring doctors back to square one. Micro-fractures also plague the modern dentist, compromising the integrity of completed crowns and bridges after their application.
Introducing the Magic Touch Line – Strauss has developed kits that takes this previously dreaded experience out of the dark ages. Now, porcelain and ceramic adjustments are as easy as composite work without risk of chipping. A special manufacturing method allows fast adjustments on all types of PFM crowns, Ceramic and Zirconia crowns and bridges as well Procad®, Vita® and E-max® ceramic crowns.
The Burs you need – Our Magic Touch Kits were designed in collaboration with leading dentists to include all necessary burs for an adjustment procedure. 801/018PF and 801/022PF burs for adjusting the marginal ridge, a 390/018PF Bur for adjusting the occlusal surface, a 368/023PF bur for adjusting the lingual surface and an 862/014PF, 889/010PF, or 885/012PF burs for adjusting the margin. You can also use a 878K/021PF Bur for trimming excess material.
Strauss offers three burs for Zirconia based ceramic crown and bridge removal; the 856/018PF, 856/025PF and 878K/021PF. These burs erase the problems associated with removing ceramic and Zirconia crowns and bridges, such as the Lava®, Procera®, InCeram™, Empress® I, II, Vita®, and Procad®.
One of the most daunting tasks faced by endodontists and dentists is a root canal through Zirconia. Strauss has solved this problem as well with the endo access bur, A3PF, A4PF or B4PF should be used for this application. These burs tunnel through the porcelain layer in seconds, and penetrate the Zirconia based crown or bridge with efficiency previously thought impossible.
