Socket grafting should be an indispensable part of our daily routine practice for obtaining optimal implant placement and proper functional and aesthetic rehabilitation. Nevertheless, many sockets are left non-grafted after extraction, owing to the complexity and cumbersomeness of traditional grafting procedures, together with the additional associated costs of the graft itself, including the membrane, and the prolonged chair time.

Many general practitioners who are usually doing extractions are reluctant to perform socket preservation procedures by themselves. Thus, they refer the case or just leave it as is. Other clinicians who have grafting skillfulness and experience do not perform socket grafting for each case—owing to the fact that many patients are not willing to pay for grafting expenses.

Bone cements allow a paradigm shift in the grafting field. In contrast to traditional grafting, the characteristics of bone cement exceedingly simplify grafting procedures. The graft cement is easily injected from its syringe into the socket and sets and hardens instantly in situ. No membrane is needed, nor any skillfulness or particular knowledge in soft tissue management.

In this webinar, we will go over the protocols for socket grafting with bone cement, how we can regenerate the bone, and at the same time, enhance the proliferation of the soft tissue above the exposed graft. Valuable tips for grafting in the posterior region as well in the aesthetic zone will be shared with the audience so that every clinician can do those procedures simply, safely, less intrusively, and with higher predictability.
